Pork Sesame Salad

Recipe: Asian Pork Sesame Salad


Hearty salad with salty sesame umami flavours.



Asian Pork Sesame Salad 

Serves 2



200g pork neck fillet, cut into thin slices
Dash sesame oil
Dash soy sauce
1 red chilli, sliced fine
Salt and Pepper
8 shitake or regular mushrooms, sliced thin
1/2 carrot, cut into thin strips
2 spring onions cut into 2 inch pieces
6 cherry or baby plum tomatoes, cut in half
1/4 cucumber cut into strips
10 mange tout
1 small cos lettuce or another crunchy lettuce leaf
2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Dash of oil (any non flavoured oil such as rapeseed or peanut oil)


2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp minced ginger



  1. Combine pork, soy, sesame oil, chilli, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Combine ingredients for dressing.
  3. Add a small splash of oil to a hot frying pan and quickly flash fry onions mushroom and carrot. Remove from pan. Now add another splash of oil and pork, cooking until lightly browned but stull soft. Add a small splash of soy sauce and sesame oil, coat pork well and remove from pan.
  4. Share lettuce between bowls. Build salad by layering cooked vegetables pork, tomatoes and cucumber. Drizzle with dressing and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
